Project Description
UV Coating
UV coating, short for ultraviolet coating, is a process used in the printing industry to apply a clear liquid coating to a printed surface and then curing it instantly using ultraviolet light. This coating adds a glossy finish to printed materials, enhancing their appearance and providing protection against wear and tear.
Here’s how the UV coating process generally works:
Application: A clear liquid coating, typically made of acrylic or epoxy-based compounds, is applied to the printed surface using a roller or spray system. This coating can be applied to the entire surface or specific areas of the print, depending on the desired effect.
UV Curing: After the coating is applied, the printed material passes through a UV curing unit. This unit emits ultraviolet light, which instantly cures the coating, causing it to harden and bond to the surface of the print. The curing process is very fast, typically taking only a few seconds.
